Brief reflection on Hospitality |

In my reading on the“virtue of hospitality” it seemed to me that this virtue really was the heart of the Christian friendship in the ancient Celtic world and today. It can be understood in terms of accepting Christ into our life, which we do when we accept others into our home and accept/reach out to the poor and defenseless. We can see this in a spiritual way, when we pray we accept Christ into our home, our inner spiritual life. Another way of saying this is that Christ can be made present in in our actions, including in our friendships; It is our hospitality that accepts that presence.
