The Caretaker's of Mary's Garden is an outreach to the elderly and dependent initiated by the friends of Oigedchaire.  We desire to recognize Christ in elderly and dependent by bringing to them spirtual support and opportunities otherwise not available and in return we learn from their friendship.  The first effort was made at the DuBourg House Assisted Living facility where the beginnings of a Mary Garden was planted.  The statue and flowers were provided by the Caretakers of Mary's Garden.

The effort of the Caretakers of Mary's Garden is a comprehensive spiritual outreach.  In long term care facilities it could include care for the chapel, Mary garden , hospitality , and generally anything spiritual.  In the spirit of hospitality we share our gifts with the nursing home residents in other capacities such as playing music, facilitating discussion, arts and crafts and more.  The effort also looks to reach the elderly in the community and support their participation in the community and liturgical life of the Church.
